  •  Why is Jinx's Fire harder to say (4+ / 0-)

    than Jinx's Magic?

And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County Down by the Green River where Paradise lay. Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away. John Prine

    •  Hi! Because the voiceless fricatives elide (4+ / 0-)

Not so much hard to say as hard to hear. If you say "Jinx's Fire" aloud people may hear "Jinx Has Fire" or "Jinx Aspire", which makes it hard for them to look it up, so there's a word-of-mouth problem.

Also, I've found a lot of people pronounce the second book's title as "Jinx Magic", leaving out the "'s".

      •  Ah (3+ / 0-)

I see. What if you added an adjective Jinx's Cosmic Fire? Nah. I don't like that. IMO, since you started with Jinx's Magic you should continue with Jinx's Fire.

I'm guessing this is a continuing series. It would be cool to accentuate Magic and Fire in the cover with different colors, so the series could be shorthanded to Magic! Fire! Next One! Sort of like Fellowship, Two Towers, Return. You don't need to fill in the rest.
