  •  I just scanned (10+ / 0-)

all the diaries listed above (Thanks, MB) and my emotions varied from positive to depressed. Overall, some good but more bad. At least the phenomenal rainfall we're experiencing now is on the good side of the spectrum.

    Ceiling Cat rules....srsly.

    •  two good news: court denies PGnE (6+ / 0-)

and House Water bill passed but was widely given 'no chance of passing' and the tactics were roundly scored as well.

      House Water bill passes, dies

House passes Central Valley water bill; Senate passage unlikely.

      Nunes was quoted choice tidbit

Nunes accused coastal Californians of siphoning water away from other parts of the state with little regard for environmental rules. Yet, he said, Democrats object when Republicans put agricultural interests over those of "stupid little fish."
there's more just as stupid, geezeus it's embarrassing.

Court rejects PUC's approval of Oakley PG&E plant

A state appeals court has overturned an approval by state regulators for a proposed Pacific Gas & Electric Co. natural gas plant in Oakley, saying the utility presented no reliable evidence that the plant is needed.
And PGnE submitted a report by the that was rejected as heresay by the court...ouch, that is gonna leave a lump.

Also Diablo Canyon cited as another reason..the application to renew may be denied. Perhaps PGnE will take it to the state supreme court..

Well, that's good they are expecting the worst, or next to the worst for Diablo Canyon. I was over the hill there in Los Osos one day when a brushfire on Mt Diablo sent residents running away in terror. I moved, now I am upwind of a mothballed nuke. I used to have regular nightmares of Diablo blowing up etc..yeah, not strictly rational, but...
but strange that I was (a rare visit) visiting Los Osos for such a rare event.

      another choice quote:

But the court said neither the utility nor the PUC cited any evidence, aside from the system operator's uncorroborated and disputed report, that the electric system needed a new plant in Oakley.
boom gores the dynomite...isn'tt it interesting a court would poke PGnE in the eye like this, and that PGnE would act so hapless? I can't tell how this got to the appeals court, but there was a remark about it being denied by the PUC.
after failing to gain approval for the Oakley plant during the PUC's regular review of power needs in the late 2000s.
      also amazing.

What's going on here, common sense?
