    No Child Left Behind is like a magician's trick. I suggest the only reason they passed that law was not to raise school standards, but to require schools to release private info about students to the military. Its backers were focusing on finally making schools accountable and the chance to have minority schools equal non-minority schools in performance. But the only real point of that law was to force schools to make available student's private information to military recruiters and give them the run of the school or lose federal funding.

    If a magician looks at his or her right hand, the whole audience will look with them. Then, the left hand will be busy preparing the illusion. That is what happened with NCLB.
