  •  Lawyer example is silly (none)
First off, most first year lawyers have a $100,000+ debt they have to pay off.

Secondly, your argument is essentially... Lawyers make more than teachers? i.e.  Some professions make more than others?  Of course!

    •  So it's silly? (4.00)
How long would it take to take to pay off school debt for a lawyer making over 100K a year? How long would it take for a teacher making $40K? It's all proportional.

But a lawyers salary goes a lot further than a teacher's.

This is the attitude I'm talking about. It's silly to think that teachers should earn as much as lawyers. Why?

I'm required to have a masters degree. I'm certified. I have to continue to take graduate credit to be recertified. I'm an expert in my field. I make as great an impact on American society as a lawyer does.

Yet it's silly of me to think teachers should earn as much a lawyers.

      Of course!

off too.  Mine is about 40k.  By the time I finish my masters it should be about 65k.  That's low because I got a lot of grant money.  I could easily be out 100k.
