    Theoretically, because teachers are generally poorly paid, it might be a big benefit to them, while not costing the rest of society that much. I'd like to see if someone has actually studied this, run the numbers.

    There are a lot of ways to create incentives for people to take important jobs, and society needs to be creative.

      Although I don't necessarily agree that teachers need to be paid more, I do like the idea of using the income tax to spread the burden more equitably. Using local property tax to fund school systems practically guarantees that plenty of children will be left behind.
