  •  I agree about reducing fossil fuel consumption (0+ / 0-)

    and increasing domestic production of renewables.  I disagree about the specific microeconomic consequences of the pipeline.  You are correct that the full impact of the southern portion has not yet been felt, although earlier pipeline reversal and construction did eliminate much of the refinery input price gap.  Note that A)product pipelines out of the Midwest were not full, just crude pipelines, and B)Increased deliveries from Canada (via the northern leg), will increase crude supplies in the Midwest, even if all of the oil delivered goes into the southern leg, since the oil now going into the southern leg will no longer have that path.
