  •  There is no doubt that I will miss some really (5+ / 0-)

great performances.  And I gave it serious thought before I made my decision.

But I had to draw a line; how could I watch, knowing what is going on behind the scenes?  It's not a lot, I know.  And it's not a choice for everyone, I know that, too.  But I felt I had to do something, so when people ask, "Did you see....?" I can say"No", and tell them why.

And I hope I didn't rain on anyone else's fun here.

    •  I'm totally with you. (0+ / 0-)

The way I look at it is, I'll hear about the performances (and maybe even some neat protests) and I can always go to, say, YouTube or some other place if I feel that strongly about seeing a particular one.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the boyish pixies who take the medals for skating and gymnastics.  I remember a time when actual women won these events, and they were rewarded for the grace and subtlety most girls can only dream of.

Besides, with the elimination of compulsory figures, it isn't even really figure skating anymore.

      Yours most sincerely,
