  •  Well, they do. As for GCHQ, I don't know how (1+ / 0-)

the hell we're going to stop them. In some ways, the Brits have more influence over their government than ours (look at what they did to Rupert Murdoch; you'd never see that happen over here, no matter what the man did). But they have no Bill of Rights. That makes it tough. My best hope is international pressure driven primarily by the fears of industrial and financial espionage.

I tried to go online to find a similar bear head...but when I searched “Big Bear Head” it gave me a San Diego craigslist ad entitled “Big Bear needs some quick head now” and then I just decided to never go on the internet again.--Jenny Lawson

Most governments do. IMHO, our country's government is flawed in two ways: 1) it's too large. the people are too distant from the center's of power, and
      2) we need a parliamentary so 3rd parties can have a chance to influence public debate

      •  True. But at the same time, with no BOR (0+ / 0-)

GCHQ can avoid an entire raft of legal challenges--and moral challenges. They can just do whatever the hell they want. It makes it hard. I think we need some Brits to weigh in on what they think can be done about this.
