They aren't big box stores, of course, but there are more of them, and they're often cheaper than WalMart for the things that they do stock.

English usage is sometimes more than mere taste, judgment and education - sometimes it's sheer luck, like getting across the street. E. B. White

giving WalMart a run for their money - and they have lower overhead because their stores are so much smaller and more focused.  They also have more diversity in their product lines, interestingly.  The giant Walmart has like 2-3 brands and the Dollar Store offer 5-6 at a cheaper price.

There's this store called Fred's that I never really knew about and that place had way better stuff and stock than the giant Walmart did when I was looking for some household items.

Walmart is getting into a bad space in the retail market.  I believe that they are in trouble; and I believed that when they made the claim a few weeks ago that the SNAP cuts would hurt them, they were telling a truth, but not the whole truth about bigger problems that they have.

        They are in trouble too.

Dollar stores are taking a huge bite out of Walmart....smaller, more local, and expanding like crazy, dollar stores are offering the basics to people all over the country.

Listening to the NRA on school safety is like listening to the tobacco companies on cigarette safety. (h/t nightsweat)
