    They are suburbs of KCMo.  KC Ks is relatively small.  

    Johnson and Wyandotte Counties are primarily suburbs for KC Mo.

      when I lived in KCMO for a year (my Missouriable year), I read the census statistic that Johnson County, KS had the highest median income of any county in the US at that time, because it had so many moderately wealthy but very few places where poorer people could live (i.e. no "ghettos" to average in with the super wealthy as you would find in NYC, LA, Chicago, Atlanta or Miami).

      I don't know if that statistic is still true, but it was interesting as an example of "income gerrymandered" county lines, since just by driving through, the city of Kansas City KS obviously had lower-and-middle income population.

      Maybe Kansas is just jealous of not being Oz.
