tee shirts in 2009. I was shocked. Lawrence is still the best place in Kansas. But there is an element. And that is where I was exposed to Libertarians for the first time. Kansas, go figure?

Now they have the 2nd (safety net for sloppy) Amendment, and can't be infringed to actually treat their gun like a gun and not a video game controller.

It is well that war is so terrible -- lest we should grow too fond of it. Robert E. Lee

My great grandfather's parents moved to kansas in the 1860's... to lawrence, and the ground was still smoking from one of the last of quantrill's raids.  I remember reading about it in his book (Frank Eaton...aka Pistol Pete... the cowboy mascot for OU, NM, and Wyoming) and I just wanted to add that yes, there are still a lot of REALLY conservative people here (I'm in wichita) but they usually have a decent amount of common sense and what the rethug's have turned into isn't making a lot of sense to them. Here in Wichita there are a lot of minority's in the city, but there has been a lot of mcmansion burbs built as well... it's really there that you find the hard core "conservatives" (cough) ... it's ALWAYS been about fear of losing local control... especially with the business owner class.... Unfortunately it's been a very common problem going back to the first people here.... and elsewhere in the deep south.  As everyone here most likely knows, the south fears central authority.  And always will.
