    is Shenna Bellows (ME-Sen).
    From the Bellows campaign today:

"It's time to restore our constitutional freedoms to protect individual liberties and restore community trust in government again,” said Bellows. “The NSA has abused the public trust, and Congress has failed to provide any meaningful oversight, so it's up to us as citizens to hold them accountable."

Bellows has strongly opposed the NSA and their illegal spy program. As the former Executive Director of the ACLU in Maine, Bellows was a strong advocate for civil liberties. She helped make Maine one of two states in the nation to pass an anti-warrantless cellphone-tracking bill, and she led a net neutrality campaign in 2006. Bellows has continued to make civil liberties a key part of her U.S. Senate campaign.

The mass protest entails the display of a large banner on each of the participants’ websites urging Americans to contact their Congressional representatives to support laws that help curtail online surveillance. This includes opposing the FISA Improvement Acts and supporting the USA Freedom Act.

"We learned in the SOPA and PIPA protests that citizen action can make a huge difference in influencing the decisions made by Congress in Washington.   We are excited to be part of a nationwide day of action today to stand up for against mass surveillance,” said Bellows.

You can go to her homepage and scroll down to the banner to take action.
