She probably supported the GOP non-stop BENGHAZI assault on reason.

Food processed to be nothing more than simple starches with two dozen flavorings and stabilizers added to make it appear to be food isn't "food". It's "feed" -- what you give to livestock to fatten them up for slaughter.

    •  Actually, a Republican of her age, probably not. (13+ / 0-)

Republicans, some of them, used to be very, very different. The bulk of the early environmental laws (and our state's ban on billboards on freeways and highways) were Republican initiatives here in Maine years ago.

Republicans of any sort stepping in to the spot light and denouncing the whack-a-doodles. To me at least, by their silence they're complicit.

primaried. Sorry, but I see it differently. I don't think it's so black-and-white.

office. Lots of Republican celebrities aren't running for office. Yet they don't take a stand against the crazy. What have they got to lose?

              •  But, Clint, did exemplify what Republicans (0+ / 0-)

prefer, to debate an empty chair, affording them to form all sides of that debate, create the answers they prefer to respond to, make accusations that cannot be rebutted by an empty chair, and thusly maybe win the argument.
FOX noose is another example of this formula, make up and "issue", give the Dem side of it, and then tear into the Dems for their "side of it", despite no Dem, having spoken. You remember, "some people say", "many are asking", etc.

        •  The only reason I say that, and I am NO (8+ / 0-)

apologist for the GOP nor have I ever voted that way since I cast my first ballot for Michael Dukakis, is that when our Tea Party governor here in Maine tried to get his (then) GOP dominated lege to overturn the 43 year old ban on billboards and roll back certain environmental regulations, he couldn't get it through even with a decent Tea Party lege membership. The original GOP rep that sponsored that bill spoke against the Gov's initiative from her deathbed.

There are moderate Republicans all over the place but they are afraid of primary challenges if they don't behave as if they are to the right of Pinochet or at least keep their mouths shut.

That being said, the Tea Party is the best thing that ever happened to the national Democratic Party even though they are guilty of horrible legislation on the state level. We threw them out after two years in the last election here, and other states will follow.

time, I was republican. One of the reasons was because they were for environmental laws.  I lived in Ohio, near the river that burned, the Chyahoga River in Cleveland.  We saw first hand the damage being done to the environment, the smelly lake Erie.  Nixon got alot of votes in our area because of that.  Watergate made me rethink my republicanism. I voted Jimmy Carter, changed to Democrate then.

Check out the GOP platform from 1956, and ask yourself HOW they got to where they are now, and which party most closely represents the GOP mindset of 1956, TODAY?
It's the Dems. And their platform of that day, is like a blueprint of the Dems right now.
