  •  Thanks so much, rebel ga. This is so important (6+ / 0-)

but not many people seem to care about it. When the inevitable Spectra accident occurs and natural gas goes spewing all over the historic West Village of Manhattan, people will care, but it will be way too late.

You have been tireless and great on this topic. I appreciate it very much.

Did you look at the "blast radius" map? This pipeline is very dangerous. Wouldn't take out a house or two. Compare the map to the West Village area. Not good!

God Forbid; an explosion of the spectra pipeline, would take out the entire NYC Village, East and West, and all the little islands like Ellis, Liberty, etc with it!

I Love ♥ New York City. All my friends are in Jersey City and Manhattan.

My Father was born in Manhattan. On Grand St. 1893. He knew everyone, everywhere. It was a smaller world back then.

My Mother was born on Montgomery St in Jersey City and grew up in Jersey City. My Grandfather worked on the Jersey City Central Railroad, over 100 years ago. Another Historically Protected Landmark, that spectra wants to run this pipeline right past.

For My Father Sam Atkins * Jazz Age
Coincidentally; Yes, I do have the same last name as Dante.

I often wonder if we're related. I do have cousins who moved to Southern California, fifty, sixty, years ago. My Mother and Father went to visit them once.

Thanks for your question about the link the other night. I'm making my links much clearer now. Did you notice?

And thanks for always rec'g and tipping me too ♥Ruby♥

Thing is, I'm mad! This is a stupid pipeline, being shoved off on everyone. Against the will of the people!

What is going on in America, when the people have no say?

Well, spectra came to the wrong place when they came to NJ and NYC.

I'm pretty confidant that we have a very good chance of winning this lawsuit against spectra.

The people won with the very recent, NJ Pine Barrens lawsuit against the gas pipeline proposal. (as Errol just reminded me) No pipeline.

So how can the gov't allow this gas pipeline in such a densely populated area? I don't think they can.

          spectra was counting on
no one caring or starting a big fuss. Plus a lot of secrecy was involved to try and make sure no one found out their plans.

They couldn't fool Jersey City Mayor Jeremiah Healy though. He's one tough guy! I so love Healy, he's my hero.

More of my heroes/heroines. Occupy Spectra NYC Aug 11, 2012 Occupy and NYC residents out in force to oppose the construction of an explosive pipeline that proposes to deliver radon-infested fracked gas from the Marcellus.

death of Net Neutrality and Keystone XL pipeline and so many things!! I try to use the anger to get things done. They are raping our beautiful country and the planet. I've had it.

Thanks again, and I hope Spectra loses this lawsuit.

Good news: the people who are fighting back.
