    but it's a combination of factors. My personal field of expertise is in sustainable urban design and ecocities, with the key element being access by proximity. We have to enable as many people as possible to be able to do their business within walking, biking and public transit distance as much as possible. And yes, agriculture is a big part of that. Getting our food as much as possible from nearby farms is key, and reducing meat in our diet as much as possible. I like Michael Pollan's motto, "eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." It gives those who aren't willing to give up meat altogether at least a way to reduce their consumption of it and feel good about. Just as a lot of people aren't willing and able to give up their cars, but encouraging them to walk or ride their bikes whenever possible is a positive step.
