    VW has received tax incentives to locate in Tennessee, presumably based on the assumption that this will bring jobs to the region and stimulate the economy enough to replace lost tax revenues. Now, VW is willing to pay its workers well, presumably stimulating the economy even more, and the legislature sees this, somehow, as detrimental to the state so tax incentives must be taken away.

    This raises the question of the rationale for the incentives in the first place. Were they to benefit the general welfare of the state and the public in general? Or were they corporate welfare, designed to exploit wage slavery in the state?

    Justify your motives, please.
