They're still beholden to Big Coal, no matter how badly BC treats them.

I do love listening to that good liberal talking Bob Kincaid out of WV every day, though. You can hear him too, on your tunein app.

Yes, DailyKos DOES have puzzles! Visit us here Saturday nights @ 5:00 PDT (easier puzzles) and Sunday nights @ 5:00 PDT (more challenging) for a group solving party. Even if you just pop in and comment while watching the fun, everybody is welcome. 21352

As the federal govt has done less and less for people, and as the unions have become less and less powerful, more and more people in WV vote republican.

They have played up the coal thing, but that's only recently. 90% of the people I know that vote republican vote that way due to the gun issue.

If a lot of people in WV saw the govt working for them then they would be more democratic again.

I think the style of democrat that Warren and esp Sherrod Brown is would be very popular.

However in recent years the dems have been more very liberal on social issues but nearly republican as far as workers rights and supporting trickle down. A populist democratic party would win WV.
