    "freedom of speech" and we still rank lower than those other countries which makes our claim to that freedom very suspect.  We don't have those laws, but we have other incredibly pernicious laws now that are rationalized by notions of "national security", but are much more dangerously oppressive than bad laws that make crimes of voicing sympathy for Nazis.

        I was just stating the fact that overt repression of speech is maybe more free than our current version of "free" because the way we are working at chipping away at free speech is much more subtle and subversive - less apparent to people at first glance than saying some can't say "x" or "y".
