Brazil(1985) where a misprint of the name Tuttle as Buttle results in an innocent man being put on a list of suspected terrorists, and his subsequent arrest and being tortured to death.  That provides the initial premise for Gilliams' dark comedy.  Haha!  A simple misprint!

And here it happens, and the government is equally disinclined to clean up its mess or exercise any trace of simple human decency because, hey, they can all say it's classified, flip everybody the bird, and nobody can do anything about it.  Right?  You DO want to stop terrorism, don't you?

I suppose many people watched that and thought, wow, that's weird science fiction.  That would never happen in a sane, civilized real world democracy.  That could only happen in a place like [insert your own Godwinism here].

I admit that I think it's a waste of time to hammer on the fact that this happened under the Obama administration.  Clearly, this is a problem bigger than just Obama.  It happened under Bush, and we all got mad about it.  It will probably happen again under the next president, even if she is a Democrat -- God save the people on the next president's enemy list.

I fear and strongly suspect that we won't see any relief or progress towards returning to a more civilized pre-9/11 type America until at least the current generation of Democratic political leaders expire or retire to be replaced by people who MIGHT have a better sense of right and wrong and responsibility to the public.

If HRC, it will likely be a much longer list than any Nixon had. Those Clintons, they do not forget!

Surely this country has better Democrats to run for president than HRC the one who lost her last campaign.

seems to me we got a two for. Then again I quit working for OFA the day Senator Obama voted for FISA. I was blinded and bamboozled by my total disgust for the Clinton machine. Perhaps even the so called primary campaign was nothing more then machine Democratic internecine kabuki. This administration is nothing but recycled Clintonites. It's the Third Way the DLC on steroids and it's become the inevitable way forward. The world as we find it says Axelrod and this world is an endless progression of Clinton's and Bush's regardless of the name of our Dem. nominee. We the people are allowed to ratify with our vote the candidate the owners of the place decide is next to wear the crown.

much on the candidate and not enough on the platform.  it strikes me that if a bunch of people created a viral platform and told the democrats, here are democratic values - support them or no votes...  it might make some difference.

      i'm part of the 99% - america's largest minority
