  •  I've got a choir member who (3+ / 0-)

has COPD and she's very depressed about not having breath control.  I've told her she can breathe whenever she needs to but it still gets her down that she can't sing like she used to.  I'm just glad she keeps coming.  She's my metronome.  She can't sing without getting her "backfield in motion" so we all "read" the tempo from her little swing and sway.  :-)

I'm sorry that you have the same problem but it's good to hear that you have days when you can still sing.  Don't ever give it up!

Down in Tenor/alto. But I've lost my Descant completely. I never have the air to hit those true any longer, and most of Soprano is beyond me as well. But no, I won't give it up for as long as I can. And yes, not having breathing control sucks too. Once upon a time I could do 2-3 laps underwater in an olympic sized pool on one breath. now I can't do a half.
