  •  Well, you know, I am a member of a Christian (12+ / 0-)

denomination, the Episcopal Church in the United States of America, or ECUSA. It is, in turn, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, the third largest body of organized Christians on the planet after the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches. Now, not every province of the Anglican Communion supports the rights of LGBT persons to marry or even to be (see Bishop Akinola) but ours does, along with the Anglican Church of Canada and many other sister churches throughout the world, including the Anglican church in New Zealand and the Church of South Africa.

We have a couple of "cousins" who are in full Communion with us, including a very large one, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, or ELCA, that also is ordaining LGBT clergy and supportive of equal marriage rights.

That is a LOT of Christians for LGBT rights and marriage equality.

Gov. Jindal, I don't feel oppressed by ANYONE, especially not by you. As far as your personal religious beliefs are concerned, you are welcome to have them, and I am welcome to have mine. If you don't like same-sex marriage, don't get married to a man. Otherwise, keep your beliefs where they belong: in church.
