On a show like Meet The Press (as far as I know), I think he didn't do badly.

Blackburn's performance was pretty standard: hit your talking points over and over, and discredit your opponent.

If you notice she kept smiling and saying "Yes!" to everything Gregory said whether it made sense with her arguments or not, to create the impression that he was agreeing with her. If you weren't listening to the words, you'd come away thinking it was all going her way.

Dealing with that kind of deliberate obtuseness and refusal to engage is not simple. I think Nye managed to score some effective points of his own.

      "chainsawed" her. (metaphorically speaking).

Anything less is a victory for the zombie idiots.

You can't make this stuff up.

Nye was so - so to me.

The scrambled intro Gregory gave should have been set straight before any other comments were made. Gregory said there was consensus... in Britain. (?) He kept backtracking.

I would have like to see Nye directly challenge Blackburn.
When he directly pointed out how ass backwards her "parts per billion" was - that was great. I would have liked to see him force her to acknowledge she was wrong.

I also would have liked to see him confront her directly about scientific consensus. Back her into a corner.

But he could have done a lot worse.

And you're right in that it was good to SOMEBODY present Nye's viewpoint.
