    This is the nut of the story, IMO. Some self-deputized a-hole feels entitled to police the public behavior, pick fights, shoot, just because they feel like it.

    Mr. Black in WV, same thing. I don't like the look of those two black men on the neighboring property. They couldn't possibly be allowed to walk on that open ground, or look at that shed on that property next door to his, so he felt justified to just shoot them.

    It's like that Root article said, the fear is that people just don't care. People yawn when minorities get shot by white people. And when juries rule the shooting justified, too many people use the "justifiable homicide" as an excuse to assume that means "the criminal deserved to die" without any due process at all.
