  •  Thought it was a minimum 15 for shooting at a car? (0+ / 0-)

10 minimum for carrying a gun during a crime
      20 for firing it
      Life if someone dies.

Sadly, Jordan Davis' death doesn't activate the law, since he hasn't been convicted on any charge relating to it because at least one juror insisted on buying the "self-defense" claim.

However, he's still got 3 Attempted murder convictions and one count of firing into a vehicle (also a second-degree felony).
I know the attempted murder charges are a 20-year minimum each. The other charge I'm unsure, but it certainly seems like it would be the same, by definition. The judge has the option of making them concurrent - but Judge Healey is not that nice of a judge. That puts Dunn behind bars for a minimum 60-80 years.

I don't know how Good Behavior enters into that - but I don't think it will be an issue with Dunn, whose personality profile as we've seen it so far doesn't promise good behavior once he's in an environment where his fellow inmates can tell him to fuck himself sideways the firs time he tries to be his typical arrogant, bully self.

      •  attempted murder sentences can't be concurrent (0+ / 0-)

Or so I read somewhere, so he's facing 60 years for those + 15 for the gun charge + 0 for murdering a black youth.

      •  We don't know if any juror bought the self-defense (1+ / 0-)

Perhaps 10 thought 2nd degree murder, and 2 thought first degree.

Perhaps 10 thought 2nd degree murder and 2 thought manslaughter.

        And nobody felt like compromising.

"Privatize to Profitize" explains every single Republican economic, social and governing philosophy. Take every taxpayer dollar from defense, education, health care, public lands, retirement - privatize it, and profit from it.
