  •  Good for you, flumpty! (6+ / 0-)

I think you should go for something exotic and spicy, to distract yourself. Indian buffet? Spicy Chinese food? Or go to the store and pick out something you've never had before but want to try.

Or, y'know, a burger is good. Mmmmm, burgers.

    •  Hi, I still haven't thought of anything, but spicy (6+ / 0-)

sounds good. Indian food would be good. Is your snow melting away yet? Ours is virtually all gone!!! The rain melted it all.

      •  Our snow is melting (6+ / 0-)

Still plenty left---but the snowbanks that were over my head at the beginning of the week are only 3' high now, and the rest of the snow is probably melted down to about a foot or so. There's still lots of underlying icy slush and some "sidewalk lakes" we had to navigate on our walk. The back of the beach had snow on it but most of it was clear sand and the tide was out so the dogs could run.

You should make it a little mission for yourself, find a new food thing to try every day. The novelty can be a good distraction. :-)

        •  That's cool you went to the beach. I saw that (5+ / 0-)

after I posted my question. How are you liking your house? The inside, not the snowy outside part?
I have been buying one of those fancy oranges that cost 66 cents each when I go to Meijer. There are some really good oranges there.
I still haven't found a good cheap hyacinth.

          •  I am liking it... (0+ / 0-)

...though I feel like settling into it and really decorating it is going to be a work in progress for quite some time. Wish I had more time to spend on it.

I love the fancy oranges, and fancy fruit in general. One of my few splurges. I almost bought a hyacinth today, but forgot to go back for them....they were cheap, but looked a little sickly and were all the purple ones, no pink or white.
