    •  Aside from whether anyone thinks its possible, (3+ / 0-)

it would seem if the Calif/NY laws were adopted nationally, that would be a huge dent in gun crime/violence.

If other violent crime were to rise, I suppose that would be the argument against.

If the UK and Australia serve as a test case for strict gun control, did their violent crime and crime experience spikes/increases so great that those citizens are clamoring to bring guns back?

      •  As an Australian I'd have to say no not here (0+ / 0-)

And what I've seen of the UK press suggests there's not a hell of a lot of public push for relaxing gun control there.

We still have firearms offences here, including idiots that get a call from the lord while cleaning. And while a lot of us have wanted the laws returned to the pre Howard gun ban it's mostly recreational shooters who are frustrated with the increased difficulties in getting a permit if you live in a township ie I'd have zero luck despite being of good standing because I live in a town of 30,000 people, forget the fact I can walk 2 minutes and be out of sight of any houses.
