    ... two of these cases this time around. You're right, two dealt with age, although the McCraw case that raised public carry for 18-20 year-olds would necessarily have decided public carry for others. The NRA explicitly made that argument in its petition. Maybe it looked like a messy case and the Court stepped aside for that reason.

    Another one is coming along - Drake v. Jerejian, another Gura lawsuit. Drake is a New Jersey case involving carrying handguns outside one's home and NJ's law that one must show a "justifiable need" to get a permit to carry a handgun in public. Gura argues there's a split on the question among the Federal Courts of Appeal and among the highest courts of several states, typically a key reason for SCOTUs to review a case.

    The papers won't be filed for another month or so, but the Court might schedule the case for a conference before its term ends in June.
