  •  Weirder? When I was at the LA Times... (22+ / 0-)

...I edited his syndicated column and later supervised other editors who edited him. My task was to transfrom his bad writing and bad ideas into adequate writing and bad ideas. He was a hard man to deal with not only because of his politics but because he thought he was a much better writer than he is. And an even worse thinker. I don't just mean his right-wing opinions. Even within his pov, he was illogical.

Don't tell me what you believe, show me what you do and I will tell you what you believe.

May those days rest in peace, forever.

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.

      tency among RWNJs *snicker

They are totally focused on protecting their turf rather than listening to any sort of analysis that won't fit on a bumpersticker.

I was a legal observer at the D2K protests in Los Angeles in 2000. I witnessed shocking acts of police brutality on Monday night and helped people get first aid and ambulances. An hour later I was standing near Figueroa St. in LA when this tall white guy walked up to me. I said, "Did you see that?" He said, "What?" I said, "The police shooting rubber bullets and beanbags at little kids." He said, "No." I asked him again and he replied negatively. I started jumping up and down in rage and yelled at him, "What the hell is the matter with you?"

      He said, "I'm a Republican."

So they are all for truth and honesty EXCEPT when it interferes with their agenda. So, how could one expect them to hold any consistent views at all?
