  •  Making Democrats the "enemy" (23+ / 0-)

This shift from political collaboration and compromise to "war" took place exclusively in the Republican Party in the early 1990s with the Gingrich revolution and came full force to bear with Dubya's iron fist bludgeon in the early 2000s.

It is the single biggest problem in American politics today.

If any of the bobble heads (David Gregory, Chuck Todd, and the rest of the two-first-namers) had any guts whatsoever, this would be the major news story of our time.

One of the two major political parties now views compromise with the other political party as a betrayal of the country.

It's outrageous.  Shameful.  And about to break our democracy into pieces.

That money in politics is the single biggest problem in american politics today.  When the money is taken out and personhood is returned to human beings and excludes corporations... then and only then will these money hogs, groveling to keep their political careers, fade away.

Another problem is that while the SCOTUS gave corporations personhood, it was special personhood with all the rights and none of the responsibilities of human beings/citizens.

If a gang of citizens did what the banking/loan industry did they would be serving time now.  Instead they were allowed to get bigger, when they were already too big to jail.

"...this would be the major news story of our time."

Republican ideology has become, in our lifetime, the greatest threat to our nation's democratic institutions and to the well-being of most Americans.
