priorities must be set.  The right to life trumps all, free expression, association and privacy are close behind.  Property rights are last and subject to reasonable regulation for the common welfare.  Guns are mere property, nothing more.  The 2nd Amendment makes as much sense in the 21st Century as Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the Constitution.

I realize now that I must have misinterpreted your post:

You said "I am surrounded by people whom own firearms." Then you proceed to dutifully type out an old NRA talking point.  Did you mean that you were literally surrounded by people with guns who were forcing you to type at gunpoint because they don't understand how to use the computer?

Thus you should also be forgiven for the misuse of whom as the subject of the verb (to) own.  Someone ignorant of English grammar must have put those words in your mouth, thinking it would sound educated.

My apologies, I did not realize you were in danger.

    •  Ownership of firearms doesn't interfere with (0+ / 0-)

your right to life anymore than  requiring warrants for wiretaps does.

Your irrational fear is based upon ignorance.
      Get out more.
      Educate yourself,
I promise; there is no reason to be scared of life in the United States.

Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.

      •  That's changing the subject (0+ / 0-)

When you are shot by someone else's gun, that infringes your rights, no? No gun, no infringement of that kind.

Interesting that there's a double space in "than  requiring". Did you originally write "than not requiring" then think better of it?
