  •  I'm cautiously optimistic. Kansans have positive (7+ / 0-)

memories of Democratic governors for the most part.

But it won't make much difference unless we defeat some of the most conservative legislators.

However, it does show that the pendulum is reversing as ultra-conservatives overreach.

    •  Democratic Governors of Kansas since 1957 (0+ / 0-)

      Parkinson:2009-2011, finished Sebelius' term
      Sebelius: 2003-2009, 8 year gap
      Finney:1991-1995, 4 year gap
      Carlin:1979-1987, 4 year gap
      R. Docking:1967-1975, after 8 year gap
      G. Docking:1957-1961

Democrats have held the Governor's seat in KS very recently, and have held it a majority of time since the 50's, and have never lost it for more than 8 years since George Docking was first elected in 1956.

Brownback is ridiculous, and ridiculously unpopular.  I'm very optimistic.

      •  Derp--fail, forgot two year terms in past (0+ / 0-)

R Docking took office 6 years after his father, not 8.
