  •  Or chaos. From what I've seen, the opposition (7+ / 0-)

    groups have very different views about where the country should go.

    If they don't unite behind a single candidate a person from the eastern area is likely to win.

    Of course there's the problem that the split between the people whose primary languages are Russian and Ukrainian presents a huge problem which can only be solved by enlightened leaders from both factions, if such leaders exist.

    Plus there's economic and governing problems that neither side is likely to solve, but whoever gets elected will be held responsible for them.

      OUR border, that is: Canada manages to hold together despite being, basically, a large huge English-speaking country with a significant, (if geographically-limited) French-speaking minority. Yet, despite the occasional separatist eruption, they manage to keep things together without erupting in serious violence.

      Maybe it's something in the beer  ...
