worse. I just finished the second season and have to say (not really a spoiler alert) that Frank and Claire have effectively thrown EVERYONE under the bus.

But it is fun to watch.

On that note, I do wonder about our society and its current love of antiheros. It seems all the highly rated television shows have a protagonist that isn't a "good guy."

Having grown up in the fifties and the early sixties, TV was all about the good guys winning, to a fault. This was not a reality based period of television. But now it sometimes feels like the trend du jour is trying to make bad guys likable, or at least acceptable, or even boring---the banality of evil---

I know the best things I've seen on TV or at the movies in my lifetime, have been those rare occasions when the balance between good and bad is fair, and redemption, hope---is alive when you leave the theater. And that seems even rarer today.
