    In school the girls did too, and it was considered "normal" too.

    But, to me it always seemed weird. Perhaps that's because my time was spent alone a lot, not in a family, so rarely was I naked in front of others.

      What's so special about a naked human body that it should never be seen?  

      Here in Japan, public bathing is completely normal.  Families pack up their bags and spend a relaxing evening bathing with each other in facilities that are more amusement park than Roman bath house.  In the area where my wife and I live, natural hot springs are a way of life.  Some are segregated by gender, others not.  I've been taking baths with men and women of all ages for years now.  The first thing you learn is that no one is looking at you, no one cares, and no one is judging you by what your body looks like (or doesn't look like).

        Being forced to do it is another, especially when you are in the middle of profound changes.
