I mean calling black republicans names as I have seen in certain places helps no one.

Has anyone ever thought that maybe black republicans might be a good thing and make the GOP less hostile, you know, to actually doing something that makes the lives of African Americans, you know, better? Not that I see that happening right now but you never know what the future holds.

...to have black Republicans (ironically, since that used to be the go-to party) and I don't have a cross word for any of them beyond the cross words I use on Republicans generally.

    •  if token black republicans moderated the GOP (0+ / 0-)

it would have happened a long, long time ago.

about tokens. I'm talking about more than that.

and it is thoroughly racist. you don't resolve that by adding black republicans (there aren't enough black people in the country to dilute the white racist vote in the GOP, not even if every black voter joined the GOP), you resolve that by the base of the party ceasing to make racism an organizing principle in their own political worldview. and that will probably take a significant % of those voters dying off over time, assuming that they're not replenished over time by young racist white republicans.

what black person would associate with a party where the majority defines itself against them and hates them?
