      to very high levels and did at one time raise the top rate to more than 90%, but I don't know how a cap would be constitutional.

        This is a rhetorical argument assailing the stupidity of trying to fuck the minimum wage increase: if we can limit the minimum wage for the poor, its only fair to limit the income of the rich: same goddamned thing.

          relationship to a limit on the maximum amount someone could earn. No Congress would ever pass such a law. The right public policy is to tax extremely high incomes at a much higher marginal tax rate.

          I honestly don't understand how to respond to a discussion about legitimate US political/legal topics that is premised on the notion of "Who cares about constitutionality".

          This now feels more like performance art.
