  •  Maybe they'll keep kicking people out (12+ / 0-)

until there's only one guy left at CPAC. And he'll be shouting at the empty auditorium because he's the only person in the world who's pure enough to follow the CPAC principles (whatever they might be).

I'll tell you three stories about people I knew back in the 1990s. All of them abandoned the Republican party:

    1) Tim was (still is) gay. He was a Republican because he made a ton of money and he owned real estate and didn't like paying taxes. But he figured out that the Republican party REALLY HATES gay people. So he became a Democrat because he was pissed off at Republicans and their attitudes about gay people.

    2) Melissa was an accountant and a Republican. She made a decent salary, but wasn't rich. At some point in the past she got pregnant and had an abortion. Her parents were conservative Republicans (but her dad had an assistant who was gay). And she had gay friends. She finally got fed up with Republicans and started voting for Democrats. Because of the anti-abortion, anti-gay rhetoric.

    3) Jose owned a business (and he was anti-tax, too, like Tim and Melissa). But he stopped voting for Republicans because of the racism against Chicanos/Hispanics in the Republican party. He just didn't feel comfortable voting for people who hated him for his ethnic origins.

And that's why the Republicans don't have a big tent. They're alienating gays, women, and hispanics. And pretty much anyone with a brain.

So now they hate atheists who want to be Republicans, too? That doesn't surprise me.
