...to the Democratic Party or the progressive movement to be associated with a culture where fat people are mocked for their appearance?  Don't you want fat people to vote for our candidates?  Because if they don't, we lose.  Look at our nation's obesity statistics.

with Dem prospects either way, as in ZERO effect one way or another. This is right up there with calls to tone down attacks on Repubs in general lest Bill O'Reilly call us libs meanies. It has ZERO electoral impact.

Was overweight at an early age and it's gotten worse.  He's 25 nice looking but weighs 420 lbs.  He's lost weight but then put it back on.  We've been talking to him about surgery so that he can lose weight but he's been afraid.  I have a cousin who's the same way but she finally went for the surgery and (thank God) is now half her size and feeling 100% better.  Mark has spoken with her (plus 2 relatives who are Doctors)  and has just started the process for the surgery.  It will take about 6 months before he actually has the surgery but he's strong and we love him and will support him.  You don't know how difficult it's been, for my sister, brother-in-law and his 2 brothers and sister trying to talk to him.  He's had several appointments that he cancelled before he finally went to see his Doctor.  Please know that most people don't want to be grossly overweight (TLC has a program on this) and try constantly to lose weight but find it difficult to do this.

Never be afraid to voice your opinion and fight for it . Corporations aren't people, they're Republicans (Rev Al Sharpton 10/7/2011) Voting is a louder voice than a bullhorn but sometimes you need that bullhorn to retain your vote.
