the DailyKos equivalent to Bengasi, Bengasi, Bengasi, is NSA, NSA, NSA.

    •  NSA's real; Benghazi's paranoid fiction (0+ / 0-)

It's not that far off target; after all, what were the inner circle Dems doing when the voter suppression laws were being debated & passed:  out making the world safe for democracy?

      •  Voter supression laws were passed at the state (0+ / 0-)

level, usually in places with huge Rethuglican majorities, and even red states that have de facto one party rule. Come to think of it, the laws enabling NSA eavesdropping were also passed as part of the Hateriot Act, by Rethugs and conservadems who were cowed into doing so by fear of terrrrists after 9/11. Obama at least was on record before all of this repeatedly saying the Hateriot Act should be repealed. But, if lawmakers continue to authorize it and say they want it, no President is going to simply refuse to enforce the law. All big agencies like the NSA basically operate on autopilot until some problem is found. Bush set most of these policies in motion, but now that they have come to public attention under Obama, they are blaming him for what they themselves started...and the more-liberal-than-thou crowd is happily joining in to attack Obama and all Democrats who didn't proactively burrow into every detail of what the NSA was doing and stop every abuse before it happened. As usual, Obama will also get ZERO credit even if he were to reform every NSA policy overnight. We'd still hear a constant chorus of criticism from the right and left about how it should have been sooner and better.

Just doing my part to piss off right wing nuts, one smart ass comment at a time.
