Jeers to the Polar Vortex. Fuck you. I hate you. Go die in a fire.  If I wanted to live in Northern Canada, I would have moved there.
It has been hibernatingly cold here for almost a week, and will continue on into at least tomorrow.  Five-day forecast is at least above zero.

    Gaaaaaaaaaaaah!

[But CHEERS to electric blankies/throws that keep my body warm.  Since I discovered bedwarmers (fit over the bottom mattress like a fitted sheet, put sheet over that) back in the late '80s, I will not live in this cold climate without artificial and close winter warmth ever again.  Or, because it dehumidifies at the same time, AC in the summer.]

        ... let me know, please.

Polyester and dry air produces static electricity in abundance and so far I haven't been able to find an electric bedwarmer or blankie/throw without that miserable petroleum-based icky polyester.

I think the material should be 100% heavy-duty cotton, about the weight of what's called duck cloth (close to the thickness of denim jeans or a heavy cotton coat).  I actually  have some nice white duck cloth and I suppose if I had a large enough place I could get the electric coils sewn on and then an additional layer so the coils aren't exposed, but it would take forever and I have carpal tunnel syndrome which would lock my wrist up in about five minutes.

I searched for cotton bedwarmers last year (no results) but haven't tried this year yet.

Aside from the wash and wear, I don't get the fascination with polyester.  I used to have some poly clothing items, but they smell funny, and when they made me feel like I was suffocating I gave them away and went to 100% cotton, 100% silk, or cotton-silk blends.  Those two fabrics "breathe" and don't make me feel like I'm suffocating.
