This was a powerful diary, and, yes, I know the story and have read a little about the White Rose and seen one of the movies.  But you have done such a good job of reminding me how I, too, was inspired by their story.

I also love the fact that you are highlighting the age of the resisters, just as I noticed that so many of the Occupy resisters were relatively young.  I only wish there were more Progressive groups active on the college campuses.
I was at the University of Michigan in the 60's when the young people began the resistance to the Vietnam War, and were so brave during the battle for civil rights.

Hope to hear more from you.  Thanks for a great diary.

I really do believe that. I know we like to poke fun at the "millenials" and the "gen Y" folks but I have met so many young people who are so smart and so principled and so determined and so dedicated, that I have to believe that they will build a better world. Will it be a different world? Yes! But it will also be a better world where people are not held back because of race, gender, sexual orientation or station. I'm very optimistic.

Thanks so much for your comment.
