    your claims.  Prove your contention that nothing would have happened if Obama went for single payer.  And I would be interested to hear your thoughts on Obama's pre-emptive abandonment of the public option.  Also, I think's it pretty pathetic to applaud the president for even trying because- egads- he would be opposed by the republicans.  

    The fact that it took 100 years since Roosevelt introduced the notion could also be seen as a lack of political will to get it done.  It is by no means certain that it was some incohate "difficulty" that caused the delay.  Unless you have evidence to prove your claim.

      I do remember a workshop featuring New Mexico Senator Jeff Bingaman.  His people explained that there was no point in even bringing single payer up and would not allow anyone to go there.  

      There was a prevalent attitude which Bingaman represented that allowing this discussion to have oxygen would prevent any practical achievement.  It was not just Obama.  It was the senior political leadership who created the strategy.  

      hope that the idiots who have no constructive and creative solutions but only look to tear down will not win the day.
