Because that's what George Zimmerman did when he stalked and murdered an unarmed teenager.

    •  And that's what Joe in Chickamauga, GA, did ... (0+ / 0-)

... leaving his house to confront an old man who had been ringing his doorbell.

Ronald Westbrook, a 72 year-old Alzheimers patient, had wandered three miles from his home at night. Confused, he rang Joe Hendrix's doorbell, then began circling outside Joe's house. Joe said he felt threatened because Mr. Westbrook (who had a flashlight in his hand that might have been a .. well, you know!) advanced toward him outside and might have gotten past him and might have threatened Joe's girlfriend inside the house.

So despite the fact that police were on the way, Joe shot Mr. Westbrook in the chest, killing him.

After more than three months of investigation, Herbert Franklin, Catoosa County DA announced that he would not prosecute home-defender Joe. Reuters reported: "Franklin said he could find no evidence to dispute Hendrix's statement that he felt threatened when Westbrook approached his home." There it is ...

Joe left a place of safety with the police on the way, confronted an old guy in the dark and shot him dead. Of course there was no evidence to counter Joe's "feeling." Who else can testify as to what Joe "felt"? The only other person present is dead.

Another great victory for Stand Your Ground.
