    at the present moment is that the House, nominally under Republican control but actually run by the Teabagger faction, proposes these half-baked pieces of bullshit, which then go to the Senate, nominally under Democratic control (thank deity of choice), which informs the dumb fucks in the House into which orifice said sad joke of legislation should be forcefully shoved. Sadly, the balance of power isn't perfect, and some real pieces of crap get through the Senate to Branstad's desk due to defection or absence in the Democratic ranks. But we try to keep the loonies on the path.

      Because I do not trust any of the motives of the current crop of Republican "leaders" and the convoluted ideas that come out of their "think tanks."  It is quite obvious, to me at least, that everything they do, everything they say and every suggestion they make is aimed, whether obviously or through subterfuge, at pushing forward a harmful agenda they have been working toward for years.
