but they condemned bush. and i do wonder what would have happened if bush hadn't had blair.

and yeah, russia helped prevent the bombing of syria. international pressure slowed the march to war, and then diplomacy prevailed.

hopefully, now the administration will help prevent a war in ukraine. from what i've read, there have been phone calls. given the help obama gave putin during the olympics, and the reported thaw in their relationship, i hope he can help talk this down.

made bombing Syria a WWIII proposition.

      So the US negotiated.

And people who wanted another Libya to revel in, while they flexed tiny arms at their desks and clenched their soft hands and finally felt tough for once in their long lives free of the faintest taste of real violence had to settle for pretending they hadn't been eager for yet another Good Hallowed Cause to justify some killing abroad.

Why are you so interested in LaEscapee?  Why are the first if not one of the first posts in each of his diaries?

It's odd.  It's like you may have labelled him part of "that group" too.

      •  i still believe (0+ / 0-)

that if lavrov hadn't jumped on kerry's off the cuff remark, and forced the administration's hand, there still might have been a bombing. but the threat of an international backlash helps, and hopefully it will help here.

if i'm the first in his diaries, it's because the nsa contacts markos, and markos gets on the bat phone, and i'm always waiting and ready.

infiltration of the left is a big joke.

It doesn't really happen. It hasn't destroyed peoples organizations and labor movements.

If I was bit more white bread rather than just white, I'm sure I'd understand that view.

whose authorized those abuses, as well as those who seek to minimize those abuses.

You can claim to support or oppose what you like, but those claims are entirely undercut by who you support.

but i focus on issues and policies, not people. i praise the good, criticize the bad, and try to sort out the complex.
