  •  Do you mean to say (11+ / 0-)

that the ads for Sink touting her desire for bipartisanship and deficit reduction possibly just didn't motivate the working class residents of Pinellas county?

Maybe now we will be allowed to have a primary and select someone that WOULDN'T just be another proxy vote for the banks, and that DOESN'T immediately associate immigration reform with the need for maids and landscapers.

Maybe the Democratic Party will figure out that Pinellas county is more than the rich old white person vote (that wouldn't ever vote for the Dem anyway).

    •  Special elections drop-off (0+ / 0-)

Actually, was the drop-off from the 2012 presidential election results much less in this special election than in other ones we've seen?

If that's so, doesn't that mean that Sink actually did better than other Democratic candidates in special elections?

Considering the infamous drop-off in turnout Democrats experience in non-presidential years, and especially in special elections, this one actually remained remarkably close.

    •  Well you won this one Chuck (2+ / 0-)

You were right and I was wrong.  Guess I overestimated Sink's strength like many others.  Hopefully Ehrlich can jump in this fall and give Jolly a race.  We need a quality candidate white he's still young in office.
