  •  Well tonight sucked (7+ / 0-)

I'm late to the party, haven't been here a lot in recent days as regular life stuff predominates, plus my home laptop is giving me trouble on DKE.

But there's no spinning this, we needed this seat, and we lost.

It may or may not mean anything for November.  It does at least mean we're not taking back the House, but that's kind of silly to treat as a "takeaway" when we already knew that anyway.  But we certainly look more likely to lose than gain seats.  But we're not going to lose many, there's not much left to lose.

The Senate is the real action, that's where we should worry.  It's not really all that "early" anymore, the last few cycles not much changed in the environment from March to November...it might've changed a little, but not a lot.

We have to just cross fingers that official unemployment keeps declining, U6 declines in tandem, Obamacare continues to be smooth as it has been for most of the year, and there are no other unpleasant surprises.  We have a chance at a better environment with those things, which are very plausible.
