      to allow its competitors to destroy each other, and themselves.  Makes it easier for them to pick up the choicest pieces afterwards.

      China's principle has always been not to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, and China respects Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, the ministry added.

        when it claims (with some truth behind it) that "ethnic Chinese" are treated like second class citizens in Vladivostok and other parts of the Russian Far East. In this respect Putin is playing a dangerous game because China can pull the same precedent on him (and they've got Russia by the nuts economically)

          basically says he can flex his muscle in the interest of ethnic Russians or Russian speakers anywhere in the world. First, Moldova, then Georgia and now Ukraine.

          Heaven forfend if Israel ever starts stressing its very large Russian Orthodox citizenry.
