    and was crowned as the legitimate survivor when he was 10 years old. That weakness was never repaired. Bad government went down to worse and they were fighting the French off and on.

    Richard II may or may not have been a cripple, but his skeleton looks OK. He did not have a legitimate heir.

    Ultimately Henry of Bolingbroke led an army that defeated Richard, captured him and then they executed him. Typical 14th Century politics.

    Henry IV and V & Co. wrote the history. Shakespeare used that official history without doing much original. Got 4 plays out of it. Flagstaff, Band of Brothers, et.al. in rhyme.
