  •  Thanks for 3 wonderful diaries on Elric (7+ / 0-)

They brought back memories and I had quite forgotten how the novel ended. I recently noticed that Elric is available as an audio book so I'm going to reread by listening.

Must admit that after reading all the Elric novels I was done with Moorecock, he was a little too dark and depressing. However you have reminded me of how rich Moorecocks writing is and I think I need to give him a second read.  Since I'm a long way past my teen years I think I have more tolerance for dark and depressing stories.

"Dark and Depressing" was why I never got into Elric back in my youth.  I read one of his later Elric novels back in the late '80s, but wasn't terribly impressed.  It was only a couple years ago, when a friend gave me a couple collections of the early tales that I finally got around to reading him, and there's still a lot of Elric I haven't seen.
